I recognise your kind
snake dry cold blooded
but warm to the touch
knew your nature was change
a long muscle smooth as breath
rippling time along its back
the mist from my mouth rises
to join yours: two tails
curling in the frozen air.
by Katie Moudry. A collection of poems exploring what is hidden within the dark center of the heart's flame.
Various poems that I've written that are going towards a collection called 'The Hollow Flame'. So called because flames are something of a paradox - the part of the flame that burns brightest is also the coolest, its the clear middle that is hottest, even though it appears to be empty. And it's the parts of ourselves, other people and the world which aren't always obvious and which can seem like empty spaces that i like best. It includes about all the important subjects of life: love, life, the universe, the nature of God and, of course, why there are so many odd socks in the sock drawer.
